If I buy an oversized item at Target (i.e. a box of Milkbones or a pack of toilet paper), the cashier will slap on a very strong, heavy-duty strap with the red Target logo on it. It's almost like duct tape, except stronger and the sticky portion is only on each opposite end. What is this stuff called, and where can I buy a generic equivalent?

The dog I'm dog/house-sitting for will not leave the bedroom. Or come out from under the bed. He growls when I go down the hall in which he is residing. I cannot even get close enough to turn on the light. He has not peed, pooped, drank, or eaten for at least eight hours.
When his owner called (four hours ago) I told her everything was great. I figured the pup would give up his game soon. But that was four hours ago...

A friend who's not working right now has decided to travel across the US, in grand Kerouac style. Setting out from NYC, first destination Chicago. He has less than the total amount of money he'll need for this journey and plans to get throw-away jobs here and there as finances warrant. Assuming he sticks to metro areas, what are some good temporary jobs he can reasonably expect to find quickly (e.g. word processing) where he can make a decent wage yet not have to work full time so he can still play tourist, and get hired promptly so as to earn cash in near real time? (Fast food labor is a very last resort)

Hey all, long time listener, first time caller. So... um. Yea. Yesterday while at work I leaned back in my chair and stuck my foot up in the corner of the underside of my desk. I felt something funny and leaned down to check it out.... somebody installed a webcam pointed at my crotch. Yay.

Can anyone recommend a good one day digital SLR photgraphy class in the Boston area? I'm looking for a class that would include principals of photography including aperture and shuterspeed as well as different techniques to achieve effects.

I would like to quit my job and go on a self-sustaining adventure. By self-sustaining, I mean that it would mostly pay for itself, cost very little, or both. I have money saved, but I will need it as a buffer when I return to the real world and look for a job again. For argument's sake, let's say I can put $1500 toward this adventure. My time frame is 2 months to a year. I'm open to anything from being a frieght train hobo to volunteering in a far-away country to flying to Sweden and finding a job washing dishes.

I have lived here for almost all of my adult life and don't know this-- What is the best package store in the Boston area for beer? I want something like Beers of the World outside Rochester, NY and I can't find it: beers from all over the world, and regional beers from the US. I know of some decent places, but nothing that makes me feel like I have just entered Mecca. Lets try to keep it in the 495 Loop, but I will drive further than that if the place sounds really fantastic. Baseball season is here and summer is coming so I am looking forward to some nice beer.

It's been suggested that I take wedding pictures at my friend's upcoming wedding in February as the bride and groom are doing a nice low-key affair. What camera do I get, and how do I get
good decent at it in 2 months? 3 parts inside

What is your favorite and most colorful expression or phrase? Speaking about two idiots that we work with, my coworker said that they looked like '
Two monkey's f*cking a football', which led me to say '
They couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery', and as a final touch, which made me laugh, my coworker states '
They're about as handy as a bear cub with a toothpick'. I would love to write a book or create a website with colorful phrases from around the world. What are some of your favorite idioms that you use or have overhead in the boardroom, bar, or barnyard?
