Imperium Kontratakuje

Apparently whenever US movies were released in Soviet-era Poland, the posters were discarded and replaced by new versions by Polish artists. Alternately disturbing and frickin' awesome, and often containing political comments of varying subtlety. Previously.

How to become a therapist?

I've been working in IT all my life. I've been thinking of changing careers and the idea of becoming a therapist occurred to me. So now I'm curious: How does one train to become a therapist? What degrees and certifications would I need to accumulate on the way to becoming one? Are there evening programs in the Chicago area? Thanks for any insight!

Decider in Chief

Bush has got a brand new bag - In an executive order signed today Bush created a new oversight position at all regulatory agencies. This position, which will be staffed by someone appointed by the White House, will over see regulatory suggestions and reports to congress.

Pizza from heaven? Why is there food outside my back door?

Every once-in-a-while, when I go to let my dog out first thing in the morning, or after getting home from work, there is a small corner piece of pizza or heel of bread sitting outside my back door. Who loves my dog so much that they want to leave her treats?

After 6 months of work and hundreds of hours of...

La Compania Rebelde: Understanding American Apparel After 6 months of work and hundreds of hours of interviews and research, Knowmore.org has released its special report on American Apparel.

American Apparel is the largest garment manufacturer in the United States, and as of this writing employs roughly 4,500 workers out of a single factory in downtown Los Angeles. Its growth in the past five years has been astonishing; from 2002 to 2004, the company repeatedly doubled its annual sales figures, and has opened 130 retail stores worldwide in the past three years.

The company, which prides itself on its socially responsible practices, has had its ethics called into question by critics who accuse the company of union busting, harmful advertising, creating a hostile work environment, sexual harassment, and managerial misconduct towards workers.
