Why do people have a problem with polygamy (of the non-FLDS-child-bride variety)?
I think it's important to start by realizing that marriage of the man + woman type doesn't even mean the same thing to everybody in this country right now. Stephanie Coontz has written a lot about this, and it's very interesting--basically, we're in the middle (historically) of a shift between marriage as an unequal arrangement where women bartered sex in exchange for... What cocktails to serve with sushi?
This is called a "jasmine." It was in a book that matildaben showed me.
- 1 1/2 oz. gin
- 3/4 oz. Campari
- 3/4 oz. Cointreau
- 1/4 oz lemon juice
Shake over ice and serve up with a twist.
It'd be just the thing with sushi: very dry, very citric, very clean flavors.

If this isn't exactly what you had in mind, my recommendation would be to look into mixes based on ginger ale, I find it goes well with sushi.

I sympathize with where you're coming from, as I grew up in a fundamentalist religion which preached that the Bible is literally, 100% true, and they are the chosen few who will make it to heaven (Seventh-Day Adventist to be exact).
"Choosing the right religion" based solely on how it will benefit you is pretty much a foreign concept to a fundamentalist, and I still don't quite get it. Fundamentalist Christianity presents a set of specific beliefs about the universe that... [more]

Here is the basic idea in a nutshell. Certain patterns and combinations of notes sound nice together, or make certain effects -- we call these scales and chords. Certain combinations of scales and certain combinations of chords sound better than others -- we call this harmony. For instance, combine certain chords together, and you get music that sounds sad -- we'll call this minor harmony. And if you combine certain other chords together, you get music that sounds kinda happy -- we'll call this... [more]
