How Do I Get Started In Seeking Political Office?
Have you worked on a campaign before? If not, that would provide a lot of insight.
Anyway, the position you intend to run for will determine what you should expect. The more local and obscure, the less work you'll usually need to do, and the less money you will need to raise. However, there are exceptions even to this; in some cities the city council is a huge deals, not so much in others. Sometimes someone will run a very gung-ho campaign for something most people... Yeah, what's so interesting about a multi-millionaire Heisman Trophy-winning actor brutally murdering his wife and her friend and then being acquitted, only to end up serving the rest of his life in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping?

The courtroom mic failed to pick up the second half of Johnny Cochran's phrase, "If the glove does not fit, you must acquit."

When I first read this headline on the BBC news site, I thought it said "boy goes on rampage at Aussie zoo, fed to crocodile".
After reading the story, I find myself kind of wishing that were true.

So the child is engaging in animal cruelty and arguably torture, which are well accepted as a early signifier of sociopathic tendencies, and we need to point the blame at the zoo?
I'm sorry but if a 7 year old child was killing cats and feeding them to a neighborhood dog we'd label that scary behavior I fail to see how similar acts taking place in a controlled setting like a zoo should be considered cool or exciting.

My current theory of her reminds of me of a rule of thumb when scouting sports talent, especially high school basketball, and hey, she was a high school basketball star ...
Oftentimes, you see a high school basketball star get flayed at the college level, because up until that time, they've always been the best player on the court, and their game is centered around using their built-in talent advantage only. They have no flexibility in dealing with a challenge outside of... [more]

I had this weird dream where Palin shows up for the debate drunk and starts asking Biden things like "do you want to fuck me? John wants to fuck me." And it went downhill from there. Biden just looks slightly appalled.
My fantasy world is much more lively than the real world.

From this link, here's one of her (non-)answers she used in a debate with Andrew Halcro which pretty much sums up her strategy:
"Andrew, I watch you at these debates with no notes, no papers, and yet when asked questions, you spout off facts, figures, and policies, and I'm amazed. But then I look out into the audience and I ask myself, 'Does any of this really matter?'"

I really don't understand how anyone could watch Palin's performance tonight and state, without laughing, that she is an authentic human being. She is a farce. She is a cartoon. I have a "diverse family" with a lot of "Joe Sixpack and Hockey Mom" relatives, too, and no one speaks in everyday speech the way she sounded tonight, and they certainly wouldn't speak that way in a serious debate; the fact that she did is not rustic, or folksy, but disingenuous and ultimately... What caused the Viking Age?
What caused the Viking Age?
Scholars estimate that around 785, Mt. Loki, NE of Iceland, erupted spectacularly, pumping hundreds of millions of tonnes of red-hot longships from the deepest bowels of the Earth and high into the planet's atmosphere. This eruption was felt as far away as China, causing Yan Zhenqing, famous calligrapher, to spill his inkpot, resulting in his strangulation.

Generally speaking, the revolver is more difficult to master than the pistol. The double action is hard and it affects speed and accuracy. It can be done, but I found that pistols are easier, as did many shooters. Also, even though they seem to be more simple, revolvers are not as rugged as service pistols, the mechanisms that cycles the cylinder and cocks the hammer is both complicated and fragile compared to auto pistols. - From "survivors of other collapsed...
