Some questions about the volcano vaporizer

My friend is considering buying the volcano vaporizer. I should first note that price isn't an issue, he's splitting the cost with a few of his friends. He's also a purely recreational user looking for the most potent high he can get. Some of his questions are below:

Peculiar corpses

Peculiar corpses: "Incorruptibles remaining free of decomposition have baffled scientists to this day. These bodies are discovered in many different environments, including environments that would typically cause an accidental or deliberately preserved corpse to decompose rapidly." The photographed examples seem to all be associated with Christian faith. Hmm. "[At Oratorio di San Lorenzo] in Palermo, however, corpses are treated as characters in a play": The Museum of the Dead, reassuringly less preserved.

How to lose weight without losing your mind?

After a lifetime of no weight problems, I am about 30 pounds overweight (this has happened over the past 5 years) but have not changed my eating or exercise habits since my pre-weight-gain days. My doctor says that I have no health problems (my thyroid, cholesterol, and blood sugar have all been checked.) I probably consume around 2000-2400 calories a day and I exercise fairly regularly (3x/week). I haven't had any undue stress or strife in my life, and lead a happy, normal life. I'm a female, late 30s, and am finding it next to impossible to lose the weight. If I try to cut calories even for a day, I find that I am totally starving, and I feel weak, cranky, and dopey (I have a very hard time concentrating at work when I try to eat less). Any suggestions for losing the weight at a reasonable rate (I don't want to be "on a diet" for months on end) without feeling so rotten?

'cause what would they say if they ever knew?

In 1940, Nana Milagro Hoyos paid a visit to Carl Tanzler von Cosel's home to confront him about a salacious rumor. What she found confirmed her fears. 63-year-old Tanzler had been sleeping with her young sister Elena. And storing her, held together by wax and chicken wire, in his bed for years since her death by tuberculosis.

How do I stop excessive dreams?

I have excessive dream recall (I dream too much.) I frequently confuse the details of my realistic dreams for reality meaning I reference things in conversation that never happened. If I'm anxious the dreams are nightmares but not night terrors. Anyone mastered this problem? If so, how?

Mexicofilter: PLaya del Carmen and Tulum area (bonus book question)

Headed to Tulum and Playa Del Carmen April 1-10. Semi winging it on accommodations so very open to anyone's suggestions for reasonable (maybe even romantic) places to stay (staying at CabanaCopal for a couple nights). Been there a few times and enjoy exploring. Anyone have any favorite spots, places to eat, cenote or snorkel spot they want to share? Good cheap massage? Fav local spot on 20th? AND how about a great vacation book - my last beach trip I read "The Great Influenza" and I'm looking for something a little more fun! Thanks (planning and thinking about trips are ALMOST as much fun as going on them...)

Hear and Compare Accents of English from Around the World

Sound Comparisons is a database of different accents in English from all over the world. It provides soundfiles and IPA transcriptions of 110 words in 110 separate dialects and Germanic languages closely related to English. Most dialects and languages are current but there are also reconstructions of older stages of English, Scots and Germanic. That makes for 12100 soundfiles that load directly into your browser. The site can be navigated either by dialect or individual word and there's also a handy Google map of all the different dialects and languages. If you've ever wondered what the difference was between a Somerset and a Norwich accent, New Zealand and Australian, Canadian and American or Indian and Glaswegian, Sound Comparisons is the site to go to.

Watching "A Beautiful Mind" didn't prepare me for this

I've been seeing a sweet, charming, attractive young woman for about a month now. We have a huge amount in common, and excellent chemistry. We make each other very happy, and while we're not "in love" yet, it really just seems like just a matter of time. A few nights ago, she told me that she was on medication for schizophrenia. Help me not freak out and screw this up.

Your favorite human anatomy study resources? I'm looking for the best online quizzes, websites, and flashcards, as well as the best paper flashcards. More detailed is favored over less detailed--though right now they're only for my EMT-B certification, eventually I'd like them to carry me all the way to my EMT-P (Paramedic).

Florida vacation Ideas

Where is a good (NO, GREAT!) place to vacation in Florida for two old ladies, one of whom is sick and cannot bear the airport hassle. We will drive from Virginia, lay on the beach all day and let the water lap at our feet whilst we kvetch. Sis and I like art, history and snorkeling, and the ex-hippie in me always wanted to explore Key West but understand it's beaches are less than desireable. Need to rest yet hunger for knowledge and new adventures. Have looked at cruises but there are none that float my boat (excuse the pun) at this time. I really want to miss spring break crowds too.

The Third World Squat

The Third World Squat (Some images not 100% safe for work) When it comes to training someone who's new to the world of squats, deadlifts, and the fine art of picking up heavy stuff, I've found a substantial disparity in the learning curve between North Americans and those from third-world countries . . . There are a variety of possible reasons for this, but there's one dominant variable that's a great predictor of a trainee's immediate potential before they even step foot in the gym: The third-world squat.
