Sarah Palin may be a better debater than you think
I had this weird dream where Palin shows up for the debate drunk and starts asking Biden things like "do you want to fuck me? John wants to fuck me." And it went downhill from there. Biden just looks slightly appalled.
My fantasy world is much more lively than the real world.

Editing DIVX directly in iMovie/FCP
I've just spent about 30 min trying to solve this; there are some interesting items I came across.
You have two problems: video and audio. Neither are in formats that the Mac likes.
First, FCP struggles with non I frame video. I went to tell FCP to use Divx as the compression format for it's timeline...and that's a no go. While FCP is built upon QT, even with the Divx component installed - it doesn't show up in FCP. I get this. This is... [more]

Length of a catenary in terms of sag and span?
Are you specifying the lowest point for the bare wire? Of course, when loaded with a human the wire shape will probably be more like a triangle rather than a catenary, and will be lower than the bare-wire height.

I like how 'spotted owl' is hiding in this cloud of toxic buzzwords, like it's been chased out of every physical habitat and is now leading a stealth existence on the internet. ORLY indeed.

Saw lots of demos around, downloaded the editor trial with little to no expectations, within a few minutes my jaw dropped.
Then I picked it up, painted it a nice greenish hue and stuck it back right on my knee, 'cause you never know, an extra jaw might come in handy.

Perhaps We Should Rename the Song "George's Monkey"
Of for the love of all that is holy, CAN WE JUST PUT BARACK IN THE DAMNED WHITE HOUSE ALREADY!?? We all know this election is a pretense. It's a joke. I bet he even knows how to play a fucking saxophone. Enough already. I got a bird in the oven. Let's just skip the next six months of bullshit and put him in the damned oval office. I've had enough of this horse shit.

Blue Stockings
It may have become a term of derision at one time, but a lot of men now, and even probably then (John Adams), found these women more than desirable. Too bad society didn't. At least, in some respects, society now does. Hence, the use of the term now to celebrate, rather than decry, female achievement. Nevertheless, that we still feel compelled to single out such achievement means that there remains more progress to be had.

Should I be expecting more from this guy?
I knew a guy like this. Finally I just asked him "by any chance, are we dating?" Turns out we were, and continued to do so for the next six years. After that was established, he stepped up on the date-making.

Just watch moderates turn toward McCain if Obama gets the nod. Moderates are 4-1 ex-Republicans. You need to take off your Obamatan 3D glasses and look at the world aright.
There are no "moderates." There are independents who vote either way.
But what really pisses me off, MetaMan, is the gratuitous insulting language from CLinton shills like you. I'm an "Obamatan" wearing "3D glasses" because I... [more]

Good points, 26.2.
And to those who suggest lawyering up: fortunately, I have a lawyer as a close friend of the family, and I have a call in to him to see what he says.

they should come up with another recipe, though - maybe with herbs - like ... hmmm ... how about basil bunting?
I've been wondering a similar thing about the smugglers between India & Pakistan, who apparently - to prevent their donkeys from braying - lubricate the donkeys' anuses with vaseline.
yeah - because there couldn't POSSIBLY be another reason for doing that besides keeping the donkey quiet

So, a guy walks into Christies, carrying a painting and a violin.
'Worth anything?' asks the guy.
'Well', says the apparaiser, 'You've got a Picasso and a Stradavarius there'.
'Wow', says the guy.
The appraiser says 'Unfortunately, the painting's by Stradivarus, the violin's by Picasso'.

Put down that diet soda and back away slowly
Every time I hear talk of artificial sweeteners causing weight gain, I think back to a magical time in my life--one of those time periods where everything falls into place, when my creativity and productivity were at at peak, when my mental and physical prowess exceeded even my best estimates of my own ability.

I read a book like that ages ago, called something like 101 Chess Anecdotes that was a bunch of true and tall tales from the chess world. I haven't managed to google for the correct title. It had a funny story about Alekhine and Capablanca 1927 bout.
No really.

Is congealed milk solids the norm for glass-bottle milk?
I was raised on a dairy farm and currently work for a dairy.
Is the milk pasteurized/homogenized or is it raw?
If it is homogenized, it won't have a cream line. The expiration date is pretty far out there. If your fridge is set at 40 degrees (36 is ideal) most milk will keep to that expiration date...maybe a day or two beyond.
Raw milk does not go bad. It will ferment from it's own live organisms, sour, and turn itself... [more]

It needs to be something that pisses him right off. I love the Homewreckers book idea. The sauces and spices idea is nice, but only if he doesn't realize their uselessness until later -- something rigged, like strawberry jelly with tabasco.

But the truth is, a generic gift from walmart is probably a classier way to handle this.
