Suppose you killed somebody...
How would you dispose of the body without getting caught? Would you dump it somewhere? Bury it in the backyard or basement? Dissolve it in lime? What? What would your master plan be that would allow you to get away with it?
And no, I haven't killed anybody and I'm not planning to - I was just curious.

I like to have a pair of jeans to wear for smart but casual occasions. I want to maintain the unvarying blue appearance they have when they're new. Are there any laundering secrets to keep that look for as long as possible?

I recently bought new jeans, but they turn anything that rubs against them blue -- including my legs and hands! I've already washed them, to no avail. What can I do?

I'm interested in learning more about semiotics. What are some good books, websites, or other resources?

MascaraFilter: I have teeny lashes, bad mascara-ing technique, and a need for bigger, non-streaking eyelashes. Would prefer not to go into debt over it. Ladies and some gentlemen; what mascara (non-waterproof) rocks your world?

ClassicalMusicFilter: I know very little about classical music, and I was just thinking how nice it would be to have some playing whilst I'm sitting here reading. What'd be some nice chilled evening classical music?

I recently started listening to classical music, but my usual means of finding new albums (radio, friends, overheard-at-the-store, etc.) are somewhat ineffective. Need recommendations!

ClassicalMusicfilter: I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms having listened to all of the BBC Proms this year -- no really, all of them, from first to last -- and I want to continue my musical education but I'm not sure what to listen to next and I was hoping you might have some recommendations. Literally any period of music, I'll try anything! If you can say which are your favourite recordings either on cd or region two dvd that would be helpful too.

My life is riddled with undependability and irresponsability. I've improved a great deal, but I still feel I have a long way to go. I'd like to find some way to get my college homework done sometime before the 10 minutes preceding class, as well as being more consistent with getting things done by deadlines. Is there anyone out there who used to be a complete lazyass that found different methods for turning themselves around? Pure willpower isn't cutting it.

Question for all you writers out there: how do you keep from getting distracted? What's your technique to get into the zone, focus, and let the verbiage just flow? Any and all help would be appreciated.

What's the best book out there on time management? I've yet to find one that does it all: explain the key concepts of time management, provide a proven framework for gaining control of your time, and identify common mistakes and helpful tips.
Extra points if it deals specifically with any of the following contexts: entrepreneurship, running a proprietorship or small business.

I hate all forms of work (hence the anon. post) and the only way I've found to finish papers etc. is to stay up all day and night procrastinating until the last possible instance writing a bit here and there--an agonizing process--until, as the last chance deadline aproaches, something takes shape. These papers are usually final papers and usually earn me between a B+ and an -A... which is probably why I never learned how to do work in a painless and organized fashion... at any rate, I have two papers due on the same day and no chance of an extension on either one and am incapable of forcing myself to work. WHAT DO I DO?

After toiling in freelance obscurity for the past 3.5 years, where I have been working from home 90% of the time, I have FINALLY landed a significant long-term gig working at a large company (technical product manager for a large financial data/systems provider). How on earth do I break my bad work habits developed during this time? E.g.: checking email 20x per minute, posting on MeFi all day long? Are there any tricks to getting back that heads-down focus, any exercises, any advice?

When the deadline for all of your projects was two weeks ago, everything is at priority #1, and stress levels are at an all time high, how do you step back, get things in order, and progress so you can catch up and get back on top of your life?

Most procrastination advice seems to include something along the lines of "Break up tasks into small manageable bits" and "Keep a to-do list." I procrastinate on tasks that are too small to break up and I already have a to-do list. It's getting worse and worse. I think it has something to do with social situations.

PhD advice! I am starting a PhD program in Communications this fall. I'd like some general advice from those who have survived. I'm looking for ideas on wise steps to take as far as department politics, TAing, getting published, attending conferences, funding, trying to survive on no money, being in a relationship with a non-student, etc.
