You HAVE to have the...

I would like suggestions for London restaurants that are worth visiting just for one unmissable dish.

More than a lucky shot

"In the early 1970s, the artist Chris Burden pioneered a kind of sculpture that explored boundaries few people would care even to approach." The artist has had himself (in two of many examples...) nearly electrocuted and shot; some of his later and lighter work includes building complex model bridges and reconstructing a "Speed of Light Machine". He created a ghost ship, uninhabited and self navigated, and continues to surprise with his latest work....

How should I get started in vector drawing? I'd love to be able to produce those smooth, clean scalable drawings someday.

Where's my "No to All" button?

I've been a Windows user since 3.1; I'm comfortable with it, I know enough keyboard shortcuts to do without a mouse. Basically, I'm fluent. So why, when copying a large number of files(moving my music collection to a different external hard drive) can't I figure out how to tell Windows to copy only the new files, and skip the files already on the target drive?

What are some good blogs/sites that are like kottke.org?

I love reading sites like kottke.org and Neatorama (and, of course, Metafilter). It's exciting - I never know what I'll come across next. What are some other sites that have lots of interesting stuff, preferably on a daily basis (but less often is fine as long as the content is high quality)?

Freaky Flicks

Freaky Flicks is a p2p community with a radical mascot that collects arthouse and cult cinema.

Browse the selection on The Pirate Bay or look at their list of Red Letter Directors.

The FF Forum is pretty good for recommendations and links to non-p2p and legal online video.

Please help me make my computer forget that I ever plugged my phone into it!

How can I uninstall a driver, and keep it uninstalled? I don't want Windows to keep installing it every time I plug my phone into the computer. I want it to be like the very first time I plugged it in -- when Windows had no idea what driver to install.

Help me find my daily grind

I am looking for a new pepper mill, but an Amazon search produces an overwhelming 800 results and very few customer reviews. So I turn to you, my Metafilter test market. I use the mill often enough that Target's selection just isn't cutting it anymore, but I don't know which models and brands offer the most bang for my buck. And, aren't Peugeots cars? It should be manual (not electric), it should have a variable grind, a heft in the hand, and a steel or red finish (though I prefer function over form). Tell me if you've got a great grinder. Thanks in advance everybody!

Chuck got it going on

Charlie Rose's new website has been in development over a year as technicians worked with Google to archive over 4,000 hours of interviews all culminating in 8,000 program segments including David Foster Wallace talking about David Lynch, Christopher Hitchens badmouthing religion, and Rem Koolhaas discussing recent changes in China.

Lean back Internet TV

Chime.TV -- it's a new video hyper-aggregator (like VodPod) by MeFite chime that I've been using since it was in development. It's Wii-compatible and tested and can turn your fave sites into channels (including but not limited to MeFi,Boing Boing, Digg, or Fark). You can automatically watch any YouTube channel as well, or just watch your favorites. I'm personally going to suggest you try out the Net100 channel, which is an aggregate of everbody's top 10 videos. Flash player required

"Here comes the bench!"

Mayhem on the Ice! A short collection of brawls from the heyday of the hockey fight. A big one, and another (international nastiness). Goalie fight? GOALIE FIGHT! A few compilations. Many originate from a past misdeed, like the famous Colorado-Detroit rumble in '97. Debates are abound as to whether it should remain in the game, but fighting's probably not going anywhere.

Becoming a licensed Architect

I have a B. Arch. degree from outside the US. I am currently working in the US "california" and would like to start working on my licensing procedure. And it seems the first step is to "convert" my degree and let it be accepted as an accredited degree. where do I start? Is there special agencies that do that? How much is it going to cost me? I will need any possible advice in this matter especially if you had to go through this same process.
