I started following hundredpushups.com today. I'd like an exercise plan along those lines to follow on the off days to work my abs. Is there a hundredsit-ups-type plan? Are sit-ups even the best way to strengthen my abs? I'm only looking for exercises that I can do at home without equipment and without much space.

My phone book was recently lost and I'm looking for numbers to populate my new one. I'm getting family and friends but now I'm looking for generally useful phone numbers. Think along the lines of your favorite carry-out place, a cab service, or any number you have that isn't connected to a person you personally know.

I have just found out I'm a big fan of post apocalyptic fiction books. Somehow I like the idea of an individual or small group of survivors almost alone in the world trying to find out what the hell happened to the planet and fighting for their survival. How many bands sound like Creed? Listening to some of the post-grunge music over the past 5-10 years leads me to believe that it all sounds the same - heavy guitars, slow to mid tempo, growling lead singer who overenunciates, but an overall non-threatening sound.

Give me your baby hacks! My wife and I are expecting our first child in November. What tips and tricks can you offer us to make our lives a lot easier? For example, a friend of mine swears that putting a crying baby in front of a mirror will cause it to stop. Another uses noise cancelling headphones to temper the noise from his shrieking child. I am looking for hacks on everything from diaper changing to stroller modifications. Make our lives easier as we enter into parenthood.

My Macbook Pro was stolen. Just about the only non-shitty thing about it is that I keep my huge iTunes library on an external drive. All the music files are on the drive, but the data files (library.xml) were on the stolen Mac. I have another Macbook. What's the simplest way I can rebuild my library on it?

I'm a guy 5-6 years over the legal drinking age, I have been sober all this time.
Recently I started been a
social drinker. I don't want to get drunk or stoned. Just wanted to socialize with others.
Due to the fact that I have been sober for this long I'm clueless on what to order at a bar.
My current choices are
- Beer (Stuck with Budweiser)
- Fish Bowl=vodka+cranberry juice (Introduced by a friend. It's ok but taste is not that great)
- Sparkling Wine (I like the taste)
Please suggest me some good cocktail
- That you like the taste
- Will not get me stoned
- Not girly (Is martini a girls drink?)
- Cost less than $6-$7 per drink (with relative to prices of small college town bars, not in NYC type of bars. I can understand that $5 drink in a college town will be $10 in NYC)
p.s.: Open to suggestions of good beers too.

I would like sharp cheddar. The best sharp cheddar recommendations you've got. Complex, subtle cheddars are great, but I'm also feenin' for cheddar that is sharp beyond belief. So if you don't have the cheddar equivalent of a 25-year old Bowmore, a perfectly acceptable alternative is the cheddar equivalent of a ziploc bag full of Everclear. Let the cheese strike my taste buds, hard.

I've been able to reduce my debt and build great credit. I only have 1 credit card and they refuse to drop my rate, its pretty high and I they nickel and dime you for everything. Does anyone know of a website or a deal on a credit card that has a low rate, good reputation and free or low transfer rate?

My girlfriend's mother and I have a real intellectual rapport, in some ways. Recently we've been talking about literature. She's extraordinarily widely read, but only really within the canon. I've been fronting, claiming that genre fiction like sci-fi has plenty of stuff of genuine literary merit in it. She's called my bluff and asked for a recommendation. What would you suggest? I was thinking something strange and ornate like Cordwainer Smith, but am open to advice.
