I curse when I drive. Terrible language and the most irritated inflection. It needs to stop because I am in danger of linguistically poisoning my toddler. Unfortunately, I live in an area (Metro Boston) where the roads are crowded and people pride themselves on driving like self-centered monsters. Please give me techniques to (most importantly) stop swearing and also stop appearing apoplectic.

What are your strategies for girding yourself against the chaos or banality of the modern office workplace ? How do you manage to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous requests, insanity-induced decisionmaking, and mass amounts of meaninglessness? For sure, those who are gainfully employed at this moment in history are more fortunate than they might know, but perspective is difficult to achieve, or keep, when the pile of unfinished TPS reports on the desk is about to topple over & shred your soul by a million tiny papercuts. What thoughts do you keep in your head, or spirits do you bring into your heart (or substances into your body?). Quotes, movies, books, blogs, etc.. -- all are welcome. Extra points for recommendations that are particularly geared towards 'life' in a tech / software company.

I want to simplify my digital life a little and have already taken some steps, but I am not sure what to do about my email address. I want a more adult and professional email address but a) I am unsure what my options are re migrating to its use with minimal labour and trauma and b) I am not willing to choose a handle which includes my real last name, so I am not sure what to pick to sound adult and professional. What blogs / sites make you say "I want to hire this guy!". What is it about those sites that makes you say this? If and when my next employment search comes up, I would like to have a web presence that gives prospective employers a window into my work, thoughts, outlook, etc. I am looking for blogs that do a great job at selling the author to potential employers. I am interested in content but also the sites presentation and functionality. I am more interested in business related blogs rather than designer / portfolio types sites, but will take all comers.
