Help me talk to my wife

Conversation starters needed for married couple's date night. The wife is a bit introverted and needs some prodding to get a conversation started... if it doesn't include career, kids or family.

Music/Technology filter

My 14 yr old son seems to be developing into a reasonably talented musician...he seems to be able to make music come out of whatever instrument he picks up. He has been messing around with audacity...laying down tracks with multiple instruments using nothing more than a simple mic plugged into a laptop. My musical abilities are negative but I am reasonably technically competent. I would like to custom build a hardware/software solution that would only be used for his music and will really allow him to stretch and experiment. I have built a number of computers and I can make the hardware and software work. I just dont know what pieces I need.

new old music

Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu doesn't speak much, but when he takes up his guitar, he sings, literally and figuratively. He sings of growing up in an Aboriginal community on a remote island off the north coast of Australia; he sings of coming to terms with being born blind; and he sings the creation stories of his Yolngu people.

Help me find prints/maps of each of the cities I've lived in!

I'd like to hang prints or drawings or funky maps of each city I've lived in on a wall. I'm wondering what your favorite Philadelphia, NYC, DC, Hartford CT, Rochester NY, and Chicago maps/prints are, or sources for finding eclectic drawings/photos/prints of each one. (The more varied, the better! Old, new, letterpressed...you name it!)

First of the photojournalists

Japanese places and people photographed by Felice Beato, a pioneer 19th century photographer who documented the Crimean War, the Indian Mutiny and the Anglo-French military intervention in China before opening a studio in Yokohama in 1863. He also seems to have been the first photographer in Korea.Wikipedia NYPL archive First two links are units in MIT's Visualizing Cultures project.
