I want to know if it'd be a good idea for me to move to
Chicago. I'm going to be spending a day or two there this weekend. I know there are plenty of AskMe questions by tourists wanting to know how to enjoy their brief stay there. My question is different: where should I go / what should I do to help myself decide if a more-or-less permanent move to Chicago would be a good idea for me?

I have:
fair credit ( reported between 650 - 720 ).
a student loan and an auto finance loan of no more than $30,000 in combination.
~$9000 in credit card debt spread between 2 cards.
What is a good way to pay off my high interest credit cards? I am looking at options like small loans, debt consolidation, possibly even balance transfer to a new card (although I hear that hurts your credit score?). Any good sites that can help me budget or somehow help me get out of paying like $150+ in finance charges every month?

Writing a script about a military coup in the near future. Any suggestions for reading/viewing material?

The
Cougar Ace [previously] became an instant
Internet meme when she nearly capsized while shifting ballast near Adak, Alaska. Not enough told is the story of
righting her, which required incredible bravery and, sadly, the loss of one human life.

A recent recording of a slow and maybe a little creepy song I wrote a couple of years ago. I'm responsible for all vocals and instruments minus the bass, which was recorded by my Scottish buddy Riadsala.

Cowgirl campfire song, lead-in to a solo CD I did in February. Thanks to Eideteker for the file conversion.

I stayed up way too late recording this song the night before my daughter's fifth birthday party last year. When all her friends came over for the party, we had them all sing the chorus part and then each of them got to sing the lead part solo. Then we feverishly burned a bunch of discs and each kid got a CD of their performance in their loot bag.
Neighbourhood moms are still coming up to me and singing this, which I'm intitially flattered about but then notice the look on their faces which says that they've heard it over and over and over and over...

"In the dark she fakes another little death, and says she thinks that it'd be better if he left. With ashes floating on her breath, she lights another cigarette." Down-tempo alt-country with a cello. From Pocket Novel Mystery's "Eight Days in the Life of Grace."

A remake of the same song by Dead or Alive, only much better!
Disclaimer: I was the producer of the album this is off of, not a performer. (MI)

is my favorite song from my band's (The Scarring Party) first release. It's a sepia-toned song about the apocalypes

This is a song by
The Forget about a fireworks factory blowing up and killing a bunch of people. Not that we're into that sort of thing.

Balkan-tinged surf-rock ode to
Gavril Princip from Cesare Gorgeous & The Strange Attractors. That's me (Cesare) on, um, everything. Previously in the same ilk:
A Theory of Everything. More to come.

Another song (featuring spinning from DJ Sku) from The Wild Farewell by The Harvey Girls, as posted earlier in Projects. It is too damn hot to be outside.
