Trying to put together a playlist of anti-American songs, or songs about leaving America. For instance, Green Day's "American Idiot" qualifies. This is for a going-away party, and very much tongue-in-cheek. Songs that hate on specific regions (particularly New York, New Jersey, DC and LA) are also good. Thank you!

How many bands sound like Creed? Listening to some of the post-grunge music over the past 5-10 years leads me to believe that it all sounds the same - heavy guitars, slow to mid tempo, growling lead singer who overenunciates, but an overall non-threatening sound.

I like singers with strange voices. I don't like novelty songs (e.g. Betty Boop) and I don't like "songs" that are so avant-garde that they're basically noise (e.g. someone screaming into a microphone). So I'm not looking for strange music. I'm looking for traditional (melodic) music sung by singers with non-traditional singing voices. Examples of what I like:
Joanna Newsom,
Leon Redbone,
Screamin' Jay Hawkins,
Elaine Stritch.

Bookfilter: I'm working a summer job that mostly consists of carrying things. Every hour or so, I take a 10 minute brake which I like to spend reading so that I can ponder what I've just read when I continue doing my otherwise mindless work. Bill Bryson's
A Short History of Nearly Everything is soon coming to and end. Where to go next?

I'm interested in learning about anatomy. Trouble is, most medical textbooks are horribly boring, so I'm looking for something easier, maybe interactive. My memory of biology is, well, non-existent, so I'm looking for basic/beginner's stuff. I didn't find what I was looking for by Googling. Any bio/med students out there w/suggestions?

Your favorite human anatomy study resources? I'm looking for the best online quizzes, websites, and flashcards, as well as the best paper flashcards. More detailed is favored over less detailed--though right now they're only for my EMT-B certification, eventually I'd like them to carry me all the way to my EMT-P (Paramedic).

I'm looking for really terrible creative works made by well-regarded artists. For example, Picasso's secret crappy drawings, or John Coltrane playing out of tune. I welcome examples from all creative pursuits from all eras: literature, music, art, dance, theatre, film, architecture, graphic design, etc.
