Get lost in the Maize! To me, Fall means pumpkins, pumpkin pie, turning leaves, and the annual trip to the cornfield maze! See if the one near you has a haunted maze the few weekends before Halloween. (Advice: Bring a map. It's actually quite challenging, and calling for the Corn Cops to get you out is embarrassing.)

Every year I take a bunch of friends or co-workers to the maze, and to this day, this is my favorite bonding experience. What's your favorite teambuilding experience?

The toughest maze that I ever tackled with a group was in a cave. We may or may not have been getting our bearings, but then we got distracted.

wow, there is one in temecula, which is only a couple hours outside los angeles..that said, i don't think it'll be quite the same in 80 degree weather, without the turning leaves and beautiful fall weather. i'm definitely going through new england withdrawl.

I am already signing my church's youth group up for the maze! Thanks for the inspiration jennak!!! I have always loved real mazes, and have been looking ever since I moved here from the UK (the penny arcade at Somerset has an awesome hedge and mirror maze!). Does anybody know of a REAL mirror maze in the DC area?

For those in Massachusetts (I didn't see any in Mass on the site jennak linked to) there's an awesome maze just outside of Worcester.

My team went to the Amazon rainforest, where we lived for several months suspended naked in a big net, adults, children and pets, while leeches and biting insects nursed on us, we slept, ate and made love in a big smelly ball and groomed each other with our teeth. Now we're the top-selling sales team in the greater Upper Lower New Mexitucky area!

my favorite maize maze team building experience is to change the classification of the property from agricultural to commercial, and tax the living shit out of the 'farmer'.
but then, i'm a bureaucrat. mwuh ha ha ha.

jennak: Much thanks for the link -- turns out there's one only 45 minutes away. We'll head out there with the kids & some of their friends either this weekend or the next. Should be fun!

...unless we get hopelessly lost and too proud to call for help, and then we wander in the maze for days on end, trying in vain to find a way, any way, to get out...until finally, in desperation and crazed from hunger, the wife & kids decide to pull a "Donner Party Surprise" on me (being the most...uh, "weighty" member of the family)...

Maybe this isn't such a good idea... ;-)

We have used paintball in the past - something about beingin in the woods with a marker, brings out the natural leadership and bonding in our people... of course it could just be them wanting to "shoot the boss" that gets them out :-)


On topic a bit more... anyone know of one near Northern NJ or somewhere around NYC? I'd love to go to a maze like that :-)

NiteHawk: It shouldn't be too hard to get to the Pleasant Valley site from Manhattan. Buses run to Poughkeepsie, at least, and there is probably a local bus or taxi service from there.

"Upper Lower New Mexitucky area!" is that near Ypsitucky or nearer to Dexterco:)
