I entered "Beck", and got no results back.

Yay.

The app uses the Freebase API, and their database is a little picky. You'll get the best results if you use the autosuggest, which is also powered by Freebase, to choose the artist name. E.g. If you type "Beck", the top suggestion is "Beck Hansen", which gives me

Beck Hansen
Leave Me on the Moon
To See That Woman of Mine

The unfortunate API quota issue is because I can't use a Freebase API key without a static IP, or at least IP range, and heroku gives no guarantees about that at all. I'll see if I can find a free/super cheap proxy service. Sorry!

"The Doors" (suggested) =

"Sorry, I think we hit our freebase API quota. Try again in a minute or two."

Doesn't even have correct 5-7-5 structure! FAIL

That's good stuff. For Queen I got a few good ones and then just started getting:

Queen
Radio Ga Ga
Radio Ga Ga
Radio Ga-Ga

until it failed completely. It is really fitting for that to be the one that was stuck on repeat...

Also, yeah, a haiku is a really specific type of poem. 5/7/5 is kind of a misnomer, not all things that follow that pattern are "haiku", and a lot of haiku in english doesn't follow that pattern. Japanese works in syllables, so it makes sense in the form, but proper haiku has a seasonal reference, with generally 2 themes or concepts, and a dividing line that cuts between them.
