While many in print media are moving their focus to the web, London Reconnections is doing the opposite and launching as bi-monthly* magazine! Brought to us by master of online long form, mefi's own Lapsed Historian garius, London Reconnections digs into the least known aspects of London's transportation history as well as keeping a finger on the pulse of the latest issues facing the worlds oldest undergound. "Printer's dead". He said that Janine's printer was dead.

Insta-subscribed to the physical magazine. I've had many hours of entertainment and insight from the website (and its Mefi-level commenters), and £40 is well worth the price of supporting the writers.

Oddly enough, I'm not particularly interested in London or transport as subjects in themselves, but I really enjoy the writing and was blown away by how fresh the mag looks. I really like the idea of online content for print like this, and will be interested to see how they pull off incorporating site comment into the mag, perhaps in a similar way to how Empire handles it. Kinda fascinating to see the comments section on the announcement post' seems to be rake loads of people tuning in from Australia and other far flung places.

My wife thinks that as well, and both of you are so wrong that I don't even know how to talk about it. But you're just a stranger on the Internet, so we can disagree about a Ghostbusters line. My wife and I on the other hand, once went as the Keymaster and the Gatekeeper for Halloween, so truly, marriage is about compromise.

Print isn't dead, but it does collect mold spores and fungus.

The website is fantastic, and I confess to being blown away by the production quality on the mag. Not what you'd expect from train nerds!

SPENGLER
(looks up)
Print is dead.

sorry, ryanshepard.

[Seems like the bug eyes was an improv though. That's not really surprising. Pretty much all of Venkman was improv.]

Curiously Roadkill (previously), a YouTube series about a couple of Hot Rod Magazine alums who do stupid stuff with cars is also getting a bi-monthly print magazine. Given the aesthetics of Hot Rod, I don't expect groundbreaking work on the design front.

Ooh! This is entirely relevant to my interests, and I have fallen into the site before but somehow never bookmarked it. Thanks!
