That's one crazy mofo. A bizarre look at one man's obsession with cinema villians. Would Terl (of "Battlefield Earth") really get his ass kicked by the Chucky doll? And what's with General Zod in the #6 spot? Has he missed your favorite crazy mofo?

Nice, but seems to have a modern bias. I would throw in Major Strasser of Casablanca, Oberst Von Scherbach of Stalag 17, and Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Not to mention modern villains like Drexel from True Romance, Frank from Blue Velvet, and Leonard Smalls from Raising Arizona.

I'm glad to see Cassanova Frankenstein on the list. Mystery Men was underrated and overlooked, IMO. I pine for a sequel that will probably never come.

Who's not on the list?
Max Cady from Cape Fear.
Police Captain McCluskey from The Godfather.
Kaiser Soze from The Usual Suspects.
That creepy nazi-mofo with the fake hand from Raiders of the Lost Ark

Bingo: Drexel is a very cool choice. The epitome of nasty mofos.

What about Dr Smith from Lost in Space or Lord Summerisle from the Wicker Man. Excellent villains, though perhaps a tad camp.

Also Tommy De Vito [Joe Pesci] from Goodfellas.

I've always been partial to Tom Baker in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Also the villain from Black Mask has to get some craziness points.

And how bout a little love for my boy Batty?

Mickey and Mallory from "Natural Born Killers" ... double threat!

Tyler from "Fight Club" ... what's that they say? Your worse enemy is youself?

Cruella Devile ... she wants to kill puppies!

Agent Smith from "The Matrix" ... cause, you know, he's scary and stuff.

Bruce the shark from "Jaws" ... talk about single-minded killing.

No Clarence "Can you fly, bobby?" Bodiker?!

Did they not see Robocop?!

When you said "my boy Batty," I thought you meant this one.

Kafkaesque: I actually know a guy who had his name legally changed to Roy Batty.

Batboy is all about love, not being a crazy Mofo. He brings joy to children of all ages with his leathery wings, and is available for parties and barmitzvahs.

Darth Vader is the bad guy to beat. You have to start looking at 'essences of evil' like Sauron or demons and such before you hit a better villian.

The scene where Han Solo draws and fires on Vader in cloud city is the great establishment of his true bad-ass-ness. The mistakes around Vader are usually caused by his incompetent--soon to be choking on the floor--minions. Even when he is about to blow up Luke in Star Wars, its another Tie-fighter that gets hit and bumps Vader out of the picture.

Plus, with Vader you have his Redemption...here is a guy who has destroyed entire planets, killed thousands with his own hand...who in the end becomes humble and human and good for the first time since his late teens.

i'd also include two more, The Biker of the Apocolypse from Raising Arizona, and the head bad guy in The Crow.

Um, maybe mofos are being added as we speak, but Clarence Boddiker is here, and the Crow's Top Dollar is here.

All of these petty mofos would bow down to the mighty UNICRON, the planet eating robot from the transformers movie. The only thing that could possible stand up to unicron would be the death star.... whoooa, that would be some fight... ooh man.. im getting wood just thinking about it.

Dr. Emilio Lizardo, in "Buckaroo Banzai"
and especially, Fuad Ramses, in "Blood Feast"!

"Have you ever had... an egyptian Feast!!!???"

Who was the head orangutan in the original Planet of the Apes? I'd give him a mention in the list, at least.

I heard that batboy is orthodox, though. He doesn't believe in batmitzvahs.

Shame on you all.

For sheer mofo-ness one need look no further than Mr Wint and Mr Kidd of Bond fame. As homsexuals, they get the added bonus of being, in Christian Fundamentalists' eyes at least, in the clutches of the Ultimate Mofo himself.

"If men were meant to fly, Mr Wint..."
"...God would have given them wings, Mr Kidd."

Yeah, I agree with th3ph17. Lord Sauron could make a good (well...not good, evil) showing on that list.

I am truly shocked and stunned that we are twenty comments into this thread and there hasn't been a single mention of Walken!

Do you know how you got that dent in your top lip? Way back .. before you were born .. I told you a secret. Then I put my finger there .. and i said 'shhhhh'

i'd like to see elmer gantry, jj hunesecker (sweet smell of success), the cop that nolte plays in Q&A, takeshi kitano in boiling point, the "reverend" from night of the hunter, the mother from carrie, paris trout, the "bad guy" from the original the vanishing, walken (the head) in things to do in denver when you're dead...

Arrgh! I wanna submit MOFOs to this website!!!
My mind is filled with the greatest, the most superb utter
wankers! And I *know* you want to do the same!
How many thousands of nasties come to mind? You can't
MAKE a good movie without a good villain!

But by far: Best Female Mofo is in the movie "Ran".

Others: Peter Lorre as "M". Jason Voorhees. Leatherface.
Adrienne Barbeau in "Creepshow". The original "Alien"
android with milk blood. Sir Larry for *both* "Richard III"
*and* "Marathon Man". The German firepit baby pitcher in "Alexander Nevsky" (and the RC priest.) The "Bad Lieutenant". John Carpenter's "The Thing". Mickey Rourke in real life and in "Angel Heart". Wings Hauser as murderous pimp in "Vice Squad." The other murderous pimp in "Magnum Force." There is no end to this list.

So little time, so many mofos! Let's not forget Leonard Smalls, the terrorizing biker from Raising Arizona. Blows up bunny rabbits as he passes, I seem to recall.

Nurse Ratched from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." That woman was pure evil.

Linda Fiorentino in "The Last Seduction."

Pure evil. And she kicks ass.

That movie irritated me. I can't say she wasn't a well-drawn character, but I hated her so much that I couldn't even find her compelling.
