'Diver' finishes marathon.
Next time we complain about lugging our heavy shopping home, lets spare a thought for this guy. To raise money he donned an 1940s diving suit and battled on to complete the 26 mile London Marathon. I tip my hat to you sir.

The guy is a star. I heard him getting interviewed on BBC Radio 5 an hour or so ago and he was really emotional.

A jackass who raised at least £80,000 for a childhood leukemia charity.

Who's the jackass now?

I wonder if anyone who is 120lbs overweight ever ran a marathon (er, walked a marathon)? Is this comparable?

From the article:

He has already completed the Everest marathon, walked across the Sahara, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Aconcagua in Argentina.

Now that is pretty sweet.

The dive suit is a very bizarre thing to do, if for a good cause. Wonder how he came up with the idea.

I think he mentioned something about wanting to find the slowest way to do the marathon. His initial idea was a chainmail suit of armour, but then he switched to a divers suit.
*thanks for fixing my busted link mefi person*
