BlindDateBlog started it's run yesterday. Ten men and ten women battle it out to be the finalists in the male/female (not-so-)blind date. Can you pic out the MeFites? Can you pic the winners?

Ugh.

I could be a gunslinger with a long cool drawl
a lemonade sipper that gives deep foot massages
or perhaps, your "pool guy"
wink
wink
(still worthy of meeting mom of course)
but I'd rather just be the guy that wins this thing.
Oh, and red roses are way too cliche.
The name's Ezra
no last name required.

Well, I found this game's Puck.

lnicole is one of the participants. I was talking about it with her in #blogirc last night. Voting takes place on Friday.

Warning: the website explodes into a useless mess when viewed with Netscape 4.07 (curiousity made me do it)

...back to the conversation.

There are a few thirty-somethings in there. I didn't think we were allowed to be in this kind of thing.

Oh, no, riffola, it's okay... =)

I was just under the (probably false) impression that our extra-BDB activities were supposed to be secret, i.e. our blog URLs aren't revealed to the others on the site until after we have been eliminated. But I'm not that sure of the rules; I'm just playing (to WIN, of course).

More info on the rules and voting can be found at the Yahoo group.

Listen you mudder puckers, I don't know crap about Hockey. I'm squishy, soft, and emotional. Worse, my hangover hurts.

If you're concerned about being found-out at BDB, I'd suggest scrubbing your MeFi profile, and not mentioning BDB on your personal site (in case you're Googled).

The menu is just like this one. And Ezra is cute - my daughter says so.

Heh. Every last one of those kids is totally google-able. I found them all. Muh ha ha.

There are several of us MeFites in the Peanut Gallery — where we don't play the game, we just make fun of the people who do.

it didn't bother me that much, Vis10n... Like I said, I just didn't get the rules at first, and waking up to traffic from Metafilter is always a startling thing...

i am a media whore anyway =)

No.

..Tawdry as dirty cleavage glitter.

Ok, Helen Jane is the ONLY one saving this thing.

Some constructive criticism: I wish the site had some consistency, design-wise. You've got your big pixelated heart, which could be its own "look" like k10k, you've got the zeldman bar which would look perfect on ... well, Zeldman.com, and then the rest is a straightforward CSS dotted line template.

Oh, and then there's the sliding menu -- if you have to add flashy effects, Flash works fine. This DHTML makes my Mozilla go all wonky when I mouseover.

imo, the "D" in DHTML stands for Degenerative. There's a reason it never really caught on.
