So, let me save you some analog time...go to http://www.750words.com every day and write until the page turns green for 107 days and you will have 80K words.

But then you miss out on Tim's lovely voice.

I'm going to recommend starting with the first episode of Season 2, which comes two episodes before the Couch to 80k formally begins. It's 48 minutes and feels like a solid introduction to Tim and his writing philosophy.

I already hate it because it won't do it for me.

Thanks Tim. This sounds wonderful. I've just done 1.1 and am now doubly enthused - I've sent the link to a dozen of my friends to see if they want to join a virtual group and work through it together. I'm setting aside 20 mins after my morning swim to do the exercises over a cuppa. Looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.

This looks fantastic. I've done ep 1.1, and really enjoyed it, despite thinking the exercise sounded a bit silly at first. I've shared the link with my writing group and some of us are going to do it together.

(Last I checked, 750words requires monthly membership fees now, which turned me off.)

This looks great; I'll definitely give it a listen! I have some things on the backburner I've been wanting to work on but I'm the type that needs an extra push sometimes.

I’m in. Loved episode 1.

Amazing! I want this but for academic writing, which occupies a separate dimension of masochism.

I'm definitely doing this, it looks great!

I got three days in before the page went offline. I am guessing I could track the next episode down through Soundcloud directly...?

Sure enough, I answered my own question: you'll have to do a bit of scrolling, but the tracks themselves should all be here.

This is fun. I'm a couple of days in, and I find it has a nice impact on my other work activity as well. It's a good pause during the day, and leaves me energized when I get back to work. I'm not sure it'll get me to write more, but it's fun and I'm happy to be lead through it. Thank you Tim!

Looks up to me, but it's also available at archive.org.

I listened to the first ten minutes of the first episode of the challenge, then stopped, went back and binged a dozen episodes of the podcast from the start. It's great - really crunchy, detailed writing analysis and advice delivered with tremendous wit. I'm going to work through the lot, then give this challenge a go.

An update! I've worked through a few days so far, and it's really nice having an outside force providing a Time to Write when so often I can't seem to do it myself due to executive dysfunction. It's so much easier to just start a podcast and then use that momentum during the intro to ease myself into getting everything ready for the 10 minutes of work.

(I've also been binging the earlier episodes during my commute and they're absolutely a treat to listen to)

I have bought an actual notebook for this! I did the day one exercise on my iPad but real paper seems more fit to purpose. And it'll give me an excuse to use this "exterminate all rational thought" pencil I picked up at the David Cronenberg exhibit a few years ago.
