For more on the subject of bias in library classification check out The Kitchen Sisters on the Dewey Decimal System and the X̱wi7x̱wa library’s efforts to develop a cataloguing system for indigenous people.

Thanks CMcG! I'm the co-director of the film and put this on projects, really happy to see it make front page. I appreciate the Xwi7xwa library link; we will be screening the documentary this coming Friday at the HASTAC 2019 conference on the UBC campus, located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓-speaking Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm) people and home of the Xwi7xwa library. Looking forward to connecting there and learning more about their work!
