Serial prankster Karl Powers finishes his trifecta of Pranks with a hit on centre court at Wimbledon. He first joined the Manchester United team for a photograph, then donned the cricket whites and marched out onto Headingley during an Ashes Test with Australia.

My Hero...

what more can be said?

Yeah, nice one.

I'm a bit mystified by the club statement "It would be a shame if a few show-offs ruined the whole Wimbledon experience for all other tennis fans." How could a bit of lighthearted tomfoolery between matches ruin the tournament? The reaction seems a bit extreme to me.

When he stood in for the Manchester United photograph, he truly revealed himself to be special. Pure genius.

At the risk of appearing curmudgeonly, I think the guy is a self seeking twerp and not to be encouraged. The first time was funny I suppose, but he is beginning to over-egg his pudding.
There is a streaker in the U.K who tries to streak at all major events and has managed to get himself on chat shows as a result. Very irritating. I suspect he is something of a role model for Powers, they will end up competing for the same space, probably with loads of other ego driven tossers.

He's a dolt. He's also, believe it or not, far from funny.

Hero? No. Zero? Yes.

Maybe you just "had to be there"...

It could easily make some players seriously reconsider playing their matches. Like the article mentions, Seles - who was stabbed at a tournament in Hamburg in 1993 - had just left the court. How happy will she be playing at a venue where it has been highlighted that anyone can jump from the crowd onto the court?

Well yes maybe they should consider not playing. But lets not blame Karl, weak secuity is at fault, not Karl.

Ummm...no....weak security is at fault AS WELL AS Karl...you can't just blame security for it...its not like they usher him onto the playing surface for a quick run around and 'knock up'.

The guy is an idiot - pure and simple...its this sort of thing that DOES scare off over sensitive sports stars (however stupid that is)....I can think of some sport stars that would run a mile at the sight of an intruder on the pitch, course, court etc...

Of course (humour on) - I stand easy in my assumption of him being an idiot, by the fact that Karl WANTED to be photographed with the Manchester United team....how stupid is that !?!?!

The only ways you could stop people leaping onto the court at Wimbledon would be by erecting a barbed wire fence in front of the first row or employing a line of security guards to stand in front of the crowd, both of which would spoil the atmosphere a bit. This man is a tedious little twat.
