Now this is one of the best ideas I've read in a LONG time... A one-on-one duel between George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein. I bet W. would choose a six-shooter.

Cool...I'm the first one to call the DFPP (double front-page post)! Red-letter day for me, I assure you...

Try again, titboy.

Argh...crunchburger hit *POST* one nano-second before me. All glory to crunchburger.

Oh well, at least your name is apt.

Dark Messiah, grow a clue and 86 the personal attacks and mouth-breather jokes about people's handles. They ban people for that kind of crap on FARK for chrissakes - we are not going to let it stand here.

flame away, i got my asbestos suit on.

*sigh* you mean a personal attack like the one you just levelled on me? Calling me a mouth-breather, that's called "hypocrisy".

If you want to continue this; use e-mail (mine's in my profile). I'm not getting banned from this site over an exchange with you in an unrelated thread.

So my question is: when has a duel between leaders ever actually been employed as a method for resolving disputes? I can think of biblical (or other scriptural/canonical religious writing) examples, but outside of that, I'm not aware of any....

And the comments keep piling in.

(Irony noted preemptively).

I call triple-post! 1, 2 (check LoFi!), 3 (here!)

Um, what do I win?

Wow. Triple-post. Sorry, I just had to double-say that...

All right, namespan! See, even a "dead-thread-walking" can have a glimmer of hope. Somebody sees the discussion potential in this story. Uh...other than that I don't have anything to add. Sorry.

Since this is prolly going to be deleted anyway....
Dark Messiah--You really should check out FARK. On preview, you want me to email you the link?

On preview, no thank you. I'd rather gouge out my eyes with cumbersome home appliances than become a FARKer. I've tried it. (No! The FARK thing, silly.)

*begins watering his baby clue*

Just to be a (pretentious asshole, spoilsport, wanker, dipshit, self-appointed MeFi cop - I've been called it all) can I remind you guys that Matt has asked repeatedly that when we find a double post, rather than making jokes and being all clever and stuff, we just move on.

After the freaking enormous thread recently in MeTa about filtering the noise out of this place, it's depressing to see this, still. Especially from those who frequent a nearby site where pointless chatty silliness one-upmanship is encouraged rather than frowned upon.

but, but it was such a perfect riposte, man...how often do I get to legitamately post semi-nude women in salad to MeFi?

But you're right...

Not often enough.

I now have a whole new respect for coleslaw.
