The Booby Hatch?

Orrin Hatch's website. So after Senator Hatch favors trashing the computers of fileswappers, it turns out his own website contained unlicensed code. To top it off, one of the links on his website leads here (NSFW). [more inside]

Via /. Look for the myutahsearch.com graphic at the bottom of the right-hand column.

According to the Archive, MyUtahSearch.com looks to have been a legitimate search engine for Utah businesses until at least July 11 of last year, so I wouldn't judge him too harshly on that. Someone ought to drop him a line, however.

My only hope is that Senator Hatch learns to regret the day he said the government could swoop in and destroy computer equipment at the whim of the RIAA. Or this all begins a chain reaction that somehow leads to the anihalation of Utah ... however, I would settle for the divine justice of his out of touch, technically ignorant "forced destruction of private computer data" bullsh*t resulting in the collapse of the Mormon Church.

I keep having this nightmare that I go upstairs to make some coffee, come back down, and Hatch's face is on all my monitors with a mechanized "HA HA HA" sound, all my work is gone, and blinking text spells out "Orrin 0wnz0red You"

Nah. Let them live in ignorance while more people get to see the joke. Hatch owes us all a good laugh.

"The apparent violation was discovered by Laurence Simon, an unemployed system administrator from Houston, who was poking around Hatch's site after becoming outraged by his comments. "
I think I love this guy.

That's what happens when sysadmins thrown out of work by the "trickle-down" economy "trickle-up" the over-wrought Senator's rope.

Subject: Senator Hatch's Bad Porn Must Be Stopped!

__________________________________________

Dear Friends,

Now is the time. We must act urgently, before it is too late. Flood Orrin Hatch's inbox with these. By doing this we will hopefully give his interns carpel-tunnel synfrome from all the deleting, and Senator Hatch will hear our cry from some good porn.
__________________________________________

Dear Senator Hatch,

The porn you link to from your web page is not very good porn. (What the heck is that woman doing with her labia?) I cannot, in good conscience, vote for a Senator who supports porn of such low quality. As a person who lives in a non-Utah state, I can't really vote for your opponent, but well, you know, I had to try.

Sincerely,

(your name here)

Hatch/his webmaster found out. The link is gone. (The first time I looked, it was not on the front page but was still on the 'Explore Utah' page... Why am I still looking?!?)

In defense of the Beehive State, it's already ninety point nine nine nine nine percent magnficent desolation, and Salt Lake City sits on one of the world's most beautiful sites for a city. Too bad they built Salt Lake there instead. Consider the state's dry liquor laws, its reputation as home to the company that messed up the space shuttle o-rings, and Norman Mailer's The Executioner's Song as punishment enough for the idiots who vote the Stormin' Mormon into office like clockwork every six years.
