Is it just me...or is this the Universe telling us exactly what it thinks about us pesky humans? (Upper Left)

[Neil]Oh wow man, I'm being hassled by a nebula! Even the universe hates me![/Neil]

Excellent stuff, crunchland. Especially this, and this, which lived as my desktop wallpaper for a while. And there's finally proof even God can't resist those damn Photoshop lens flares.

nice link. where are the 1600x1200 pics? I know they downsample all of this from what are probably terabyte large images.

space will never stop fascinating me..

shadow45: Although they're not the same images, there's a gallery of Hubble images with full-resolution TIFFs available at NASA's site. Not quite terabyte-sized--I suspect they're probably cropped--but with images like this one of Jupiter's aurora, there's plenty of goodies to keep you busy.

for the same images, go to the index view of the gallery, and click on "FULL RESOLUTION IMAGES" for the one you're interested in. Links to high resolution tiff and jpegs are on the resulting pages.
