The Capital Times' obituary page notes that "Sally Baron, age 71, of Stoughton, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003.... Memorials in her honor can be made to any organization working for the removal of President Bush."

Hooray for my home, Madison, the progressive little city that could! (Stoughton is a suburb)

I can't wait to read all the letters to the editor tomorrow from the cranks, talking about what a shame it is that this ignorant woman can't see the dignity and honor Bush has brought to the White House.

Rocketman, I think you'll be disappointed. If I can presume to speak for the cranks who think W. is not doing a half-bad job - we don't care. Trust me, we're quite aware that there are a certain number of you folks who are really, really unhappy, but I'm afraid we stopped listening to you quite some time ago. I'm sorry she won't be around for me to enjoy her chagrin and dismay in about another 14 months, but I imagine you guys will keep me amply supplied.

Your math is off. Bush will remain president for another 17 months, when he will be succeeded by a Democrat in January 2005.

I'm glad to hear about this spunky dame, and I hope she gets her last wish, but the reason I really love the post is this sentence from the news story:

"She'd always watch CNN, C-SPAN, and you know, she'd just swear at the TV and say 'Oh, Bush, he's such a whistle ass!'"

I think "whistle ass" can usefully be added to the master list of MeFi insults.
