Searches just got fun again.

The bad part is that the effect only works onClick...it only took me three tries and a view-source to figure that out. They should try triggering the action onSubmit or something.

Yeah, that's not very fun at all if you just hit enter.... Nope, not fun at all.

Very nice effect. But I was wondering, doesn't it screw up your monitor or something?

It's not fun when you click it either. It's just down right irritating - can't even close the window when it's doing that.

Well, *that* was just as annoying as shit.

>Well, *that* was just as annoying as shit.

What is annoying? The shaking window or your blissfully content-free "me too" post? The only thing more annoying than either of those things is this post and the predictable tangent it'll create.

Say Matt, maybe you could make a special tag that would insert a canned version of a typical MeFi fuckup/crackdown/backlash that unfolds thusly:

- Someone posts something to the effect of "Me too!" adding nothing to the thread.

- Some pompous, elitist fuckwit, most likely jkottke or bryanboyer (but not mathowie because he owns the domain name and is therefore considered neither pompous nor elitist), tells the offending party to shut the hell up.

- The accused poster will get all offended and start talking about offending the "web gods," whomever they may be. Some will rush to the accused's aid; others will rally behind the accuser.

- Eventually, there will be a post about how the accuser is being a huge hypocrite in posting obviously off-topic material to the thread. Do two hypocrisies make a virtue?

- After a fair number of posts back and forth, during which the original topic is long forgotten, someone posts a URL to a continuing thread on the issue in MetaTalk.

**The preceding statements are to be taken in a humorous fashion, if you so choose.

Wow, after the amount of caffiene I consumed tonight, that was the only browser window I actually could read.

Here's a better version (imvho) using onSubmit and not shaking for quite so long. If you care.

Okay, but where are the Shaky Weblogs?
posted by wendell at 2:17 PM on August 15, 2000

I certainly hope so, Jason; otherwise I'd'a had to ask you what the hell was up your ass.

The entire thread started off content-free to begin with, no?

I'm sorry to say that Jason, but if someone made a 'me-too' post in this page, that would be you (referring to your post at 11:14 PST, Aug14).

I don't find anything bad with the 'That was annoying' post by baylink. It was just a *comment* for the ShakyGoogle thing. What's wrong with that?

*Just giving an opinion here. I don't want to start a vendetta.
