R.U. Sirius, a cyberculture gadfly known for transhumanist techno-agitprop, has launched a new website about human evolution and nanotech, among other things.

I had a little cyber dyslexia and hit post too soon. Here's some other R.U. Sirius links that I'd wanted to post:
  • An excellent bio.
  • His 2000 "Mock the Vote" campaign with his would-be political party, the Revolution. I'd love to see a revival of this in '04.
  • An interview about his experience of editing the wonderful Mondo2000.

    [esto es bueno]

(The above may be extremely poor Spanish. I'm being transhumorous.)

    Cyberculture? Gadfly? Transhumanist? Techno-agitprop?

    Gah. Jargon overload.

RU Sirius used to be my boss. He's one of the most wonderful human beings you could ever hope to meet in your life. I've always wondered about that e-sheep comic. Brilliant stuff, and I could have seen RU saying something similar, but I have a hard time picturing him calling some kid he just met in a bathroom an asshole. But who knows...

Good to see he's working on something new again, though.

In the tradition of saying nothing if one hasn't anything nice to say, I'll simply mention that after all these years it's good to see RUS keeping up what he does best: getting attention.

Can I just say I've read this story on three different blogs and mistakenly assumed that they were talking about Yahoo Serious?

    No? Okay, I apologize.

I had to read a collection of his work and similar stuff while working on my master's, and I have to agree with amery and majik - ugh. I've never met the man, so I assume that emptyage is right and that he's a great guy, but I am still amazed at how the man makes a living by spouting such utter jargon encrusted rubbish.
