Fox has been so litigious and touchy about their image that I still tend to believe the original story. The denial smacks of spin.

A bit off topic but...The Washington Post always asks for my birthday and zip code, and they use the examples (e.g. 1965) and (e.g. 20171)... I've always wondered if their web site disregards those values, and if so it's a neat psychological trick because if anyone is like me and puts fake info in those forms, I've noticed it's a lot easier when they provide me with the fake info so I don't have to bother thinking of random info. Anyone know? Just something that has been bugging me.

The fact that this set off so few BS alarms speaks volumes of Fox's credibility.
Actually, it sounds like you were dumb enough to believe that a company would actually sue itself.

Actually, it sound like you are dumb enough not to know that different subdivisions are likely to sue each other given a set of circumstances. For example, see Sony music (as part of the RIAA) possibly suing Sony for creating cd rw drives.
This is what happens when companies reach critical mass, they begin to crack apart and pursue their own objectives.

Which is ironic, considering that Fox News has been confusing viewers into thinking it's real news for years.

specialk420: Nothing in those articles you googled mention Sony suing itself. Sure Sony makes CD-R writers but the RIAA has yet to sue any manufacturer of such devices (or any hardware manufacturer in general whether it's CR-W drive manufacturers or mp3 playres). They might be stupid but they're not idiots.
