Through the lens of a soldier. Pictures taken by CPL Prieve of the 101st Airborne in Mosul, Iraq
this one is interesting as well. I think this one is my favorite though.
That being said, I wonder if she got "clearance" to post these on the web. If she is still active duty it seems that posting unapproved pictures could get her in some hot water? Not ever having been in the military, i'm just guessing on that one.

I'm curious about the military's policy on posting material like this on the web - can anyone share some insight? In the corporate world, I could see management getting hot and bothered over workplace photographs being published to the web. And with the amount of secrecy and confidentiality about operations going on in Iraq, I imagine the military would have strict rules about what one can use/publish. Moreover, if a publication wants to publish one of CPL Prieve's photographs, does the military get the paycheck or the photographer? Does the military have to authorize it?

An American G.I. in Iraq has been posting comments on my blog, which I found rather strange. One time in reply to his comment I commented something like, "Dammit, I'm paying you to kill commies, not post to weblogs." He stopped writing, and I felt guilty.

jester69, Hankins - maybe these pictures have already been cleared, and this is the cutting edge of the Pentagon's new strategy of fielding it's own photojournalists and kicking out most of the civilian press corps.

Magnum? Debbie's selling her photos for advertisements also? The before shot.

From having a site that followed my brother in Iraq, she has not revealed anything unknown. Most soldiers take photos. Here is an unit that returned and started posting too before their return home. Each Marine's unit was assigned a Key volunteer whom helped out with the information and policed. The only thing I was asked to not post or tell non family members were unit's return dates & certain "operations" that were my brother's mission until the tasks were completed. My brother also had access to e-mail. Pretty sure the military would not care here, yet has security checks.
