I didn't get shortlisted this time (or even nominated, I guess (best weblog by miraculous poultry?)), so it sounds like sour grapes when I pooh-pooh 'weblog awards'. Pooh!

I will say that fairvue.com still has the swankiest darn design going, I reckon, so there's something.

Hooray for us and stuff, though.

While I thrilled for the wins by MeFi and a couple of my favorite blog type people, having celebrities and campaign blogs intermixed with the work of regular folks who just happen to blog well feels a little off. It feels like the deck is stacked, like a Best Director Oscar race between Joe Blow, Joe Schmoe, John Doe and Steven Spielberg.
