Play Zork directly in IM. Send an instant message to InfoComBot and choose from a list of available text-based games. You can even save games and return to them later. One thing's for sure: I'm not getting any work done this week.

It's getting laggy from Metafilter users flooding it, but it's surprisingly not getting kicked off the AIM network. If you're having trouble getting a response, try back later. posted by waxpancake at 9:34 PM on March 21, 2004
Okay, try InfocomBot2 instead. I set up a second bot that people can use. posted by waxpancake at 9:56 PM on March 21, 2004

I originally had Bureaucracy in there, but the game uses all sorts of cursor control codes for filling out forms. It would be unplayable in AIM (or any other dumb terminal), so I removed it. posted by waxpancake at 11:32 AM on March 22, 2004
I don't use AIM, does it have The Hitchhikers Guide To the galaxy and (my personal fav) Leather Goddess of Phobos? posted by Grod at 3:12 PM on March 22, 2004
