Are you trying to auction your brussles sprouts again? Take the picture from one one panel cartoon, add the caption from another, what do you get? Something almost funny. (Via bOINGbOING)

Some comics a bit NSFW.

I found an absurd gem

I hit on one amusing combination in a hundred...

Text: “Here’s our latest model. It’s guaranteed not to let you oversleep for more than ten minutes.”

Image: A “Dildo World” delivery driver presenting a long, thin box to a nervous woman outside her house.

Conclusion: random captioning about as funny as the originating material.

Some comics a bit NSFW.

Oop, sorry. I played with it for a quite a while and didn't see any NSFW pictures, but I guess I was just (un)lucky.

This is my first first post in da blue, by the way, comments?

(Metafilter: I played with it for a quite a while and didn't see any NSFW pictures)

I like this. It reminds me of when I was a kid and I would crack my sister up by reassigning the punchlines to the jokes inside Laffy Taffy.

It's probably gauche to comment so much in one's own thread, but I had to share this

There are several of these that I'd like to see with the original captions... but the text numbers don't seem to line up with the image ones....

anybody?

There was an old far side book, I think it was Prehistory of the Far Side or something, that had several instances of captions actually being switched during publication in newspapers. I think Dennis the Menace ended up saying something about rats for dinner.

I'm so glad someone besides me remembers that, tirade! From memory:

Image1: Dennis and Joey carrying sandwiches past annoyed-looking mother.
Text2: Dennis: "Oh brother--hamsters again."

Image2: Family of snakes sitting around table with heaping bowl of hamsters.
Text1: Child-snake: "It's a good thing I learned how to make peanut butter sandwiches or we would have starved by now."

Image3: Caveman sitting with cavewoman looking into crystal ball.
Text4: "If I get as big as Dad, won't my skin be too tight?"

Image 4: Menace family sitting around dinner table.
Text3: Dennis: "I see your little petrified skull, labeled and sitting on a shelf somewhere."

And from the site (though again from memory):
Image: Two workmen carrying a wardrobe containing an anxious-looking man clutching his crotch.
Text: “I’m sure the Binkleys wouldn’t mind if you come in my mouth.”
