Where does Number 1 go? Interior designer/nerd gives his apartment the "Away Team Eye" once over and manages to make something pretty darn interesting. Sure it makes a great conversation piece, but could you live there? More photos make the "future perfect" world of Star Trek look a little too busy for actual living.
500 square foot apartment for one million dollars. Seems a little steep, even with LCARS built in.

Yeah, I think finding somebody with the combined resources and enthusiasm will be a tad difficult.
It seems really claustrophobic. I think I would go absolutely crazy in there. Are there any windows? I think the combination of baby blue and pink might be what turns me off so much.

Why do sci-fi fans feel the need to dress up/go to conventions/make apartments like this? Is it a form of escapism that draws sci-fi fans to a different reality?
Most of us don't, but thanks for the patronizing over-simplification.

I am a huge science fiction fan, and I also live in a Star Trek themed house. To save some money, however, I decorated using the theme of "Holodeck Drama -- Moriarty and Countess Regina Bartholomew Go Mad At Ikea's Spring Sale"

Especially for something which would get real old real quick, even if you are a ST fan (at least I suspect so).

Personally, I prefer something a little more stylish. I think it would elicit a stronger reaction than some boring Trek lights.

Caddy, according to Expedia and Google Answers, the Expedia Hotel is purely fictional. Too bad. This place looks like the next best thing.

I never understood the level of enthusiasm that accompanies sci-fi fans. I like Camus' "The Stranger", but I never had the urge to convert my place into a mid 20th century Algerian apartment.
Why do sci-fi fans feel the need to dress up/go to conventions/make apartments like this? Is it a form of escapism that draws sci-fi fans to a different reality? Isn't this why God created graduate students? This is a doctorate waiting to happen.
