How odd that they picked Sinead O'Connor as one of their celebrities...

*That* was "surprisingly attractive?"

Check out Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks- they do look surprisingly attractive bald. (It doesn't hurt that the anatomy is correct on those images; some of the other ones, it's not even close.)

The secret to the Alyssa Milano one is, you're not looking at her head...

Alyssa Milano has a head?

i'd give her head.

"Surprisingly"? You people are nuts. Bald chicks are hot.

I'm thinking bald chicks are definitely hot :)

No Persis Khambatta?

Site is now redirecting to a webhosting service, they smelled the traffic...

It seems to work better for women with androgynous features -- angular faces, high cheekbones, etc. I'd've thought the opposite. Mira Sorvino looks like ass. Kate Moss and Tea Leone and the one who looked like Mick Jagger when she played Joan of Arc Milla Jovovich seem to pull it off.

Winona Ryder was quite nice bald.

yeah she pulls it off well. Which sort of ruins my little theory. Gwyneth, on the other hand, looks like she's in a lifetime movie about chemo.

Site seems to be down, now.

Shaved Winona. Arrgghh. *Drool*.

Glad to see someone mentioned Persis Khambatta.

And what about the bald chick in the first star trek movie? I remember there was a lot of fuss about that at the time, but she looked surprisingly hot.

I can't believe I said chick.

... who of course is called Persis Khambatta. I'm just going to shut up now.

Just on the A page... Alyssa Milano looks très sexy, Anna Kournikova looks like the Gollum.

They practically all look great. But then you have to consider the fact that they practically all looked great in the original picture. Professionally done styling and photography can do that. Subtract the hair and give them a perfect scalp (no bumps or scars or weird shaped noggins) and yes, they'll look great still.

Baldness is in the eye of the beholder. Callista Flockhart not only fails to terrify me, she's actually quite fetching. Bald on women is a fun sort of look.

I'll have to rush back to the site and see if I can find Linda Evangelista nude from the hairline up.

Kind of an interesting way to figure out who's really attractive and who's just a hair beast.

I think I'll agree with Calista Flockhart looking nigh on scary. Besides, without her hair, doesn't she weigh less than 20 pounds?

nicole kidman is not hot. Maybe she needs to smile once in a while.

ashbury, she looks like she's pissed because the mother ship forgot her again.

And what about the bald chick in the first star trek movie?

If you want, you can see her with hair in the fine, fine film Megaforce, which features flying motorcycles or some such. It's a well-plotted piece of non-claptrap that never made me want to retch.

And Nicole Kidman has always been more byoo-tee-ful than hot.

What this site shows is that hot chicks who are bald are still hot.

But I can't help feeling there's more to this than just farting around in photoshop: there must be some fetish at work.
posted by adamrice at 8:23 AM on August 4, 2004

Why have they done so much to get the head and hair right and then ballsed up the backgrounds so badly?

Surely someone doing it for the photoshop element of things would get it right. I'm thinking fetish too. You're all sick I tells ya!

WTF? Where's Courtney Love, fer chrissake?

... oh, BALD. Sorry, I thought it said balled.

What, no one else watched that Alien Nation show during puberty?

Christina Ricci, in the second photo, is even more frightening than usual.

But still hot.

Neve Campbell comes out looking pretty good. Katie Holmes looks like a skinhead drag queen. Drew Barrymore is inexplicably upsetting.
posted by IshmaelGraves at 10:45 PM on August 4, 2004

Some of these heads are a little off, not quite shaped right in the Photoshopping. Drew B's being one of the more obvious examples. Many are too small proportionately, should be more skull on top and back. Most of them are pretty good though.

Yeah I think they're still very attractive too. So, women with attractive faces are still very attractive even with shaved heads.

Alyssa Milano, too. Wow. :)
