Didn't Kerry also blow the lid off of Iran Contra?

BCCI: Why conservatives should drop their "Kerry is focusing on his four months in Vietnam since he can't run on 20 years of doing nothing in the Senate" talking point before it bites them in the collective ass.

John Kerry: busts terrorists' financiers
George Bush: does business with terrorists' financiers

Not if most people never hear about it. Since the candidates are obsessed with history anyway, the Kerry campaign should at least make an ad pointing out that he was going after terrorist finances this far back. This piece of history is more relevant to the threat of terrorism today than the debate over who did what in Vietnam is.

caddis: How about "While John O'neill was serving with Kerry, George W. Bush was banking with Osama."

Bush was passed out in a no-tell motel with hookers and blow somewhere in Alabama while Kerry was in Vietnam, I think.

George W. Bush borrowed $25 million from Osama Bin Laden's bank, and blew it all on hookers, booze and blow. And during the hangover, he traded away Sammy Sosa.

Now there's a message for the heartland.

Mark Lombardi on BCCI. And here's the thread in which we discussed him - double thanks amberglow.

Also, BCCI was one of Britain's lower moments as we struggled to wash our hands of the whole sordid affair and fob the regulatory burden off onto Luxembourg.

And not surprisingly, I've still not heard anything about this from any of the journalists-turned-historians in the media who are all totally fixated on Vietnam at the moment.
