Video (50MB mpg) racing through Manhattan streets on a bicycle, from the first person perspective. Camera is mounted on helmet, it has an IMAX quality for producing a feeling like you are there on the bike.(via eyebeam)

I was a bike messenger in NYC in the '80s (and still have the scars!) so I'm looking forward to seeing this - if it ever finishes downloading!

I've been d/ling for 20 minutes already, on DSL, and am only at 35% complete...gah. But this is a good time for me to mention that I too used to have the most glamorous, exciting, prestigious, sought-after job in the world. Yes, that's right, like nicwolff, I used to be a nyc bike messenger. I did have great thighs, but that was the only perk. I'm sure that this video will bring back many nightmares for me. Can't wait to see it.

yeah, it's a double...but the first time the video got fried (farked?) pretty early on so it's a useful double post, thanks!

Yep, I never got to see the video first time, so a worthy pea roast.
