Aren't you glad I ditched that gay costume I wore in the 80's, Bruce?

"So, during the run of The Judas Contract, Dick Grayson's new crimefighting identity was established. Nightwing was born. Though neither Marv nor I were originally crazy about his new name, in the long run, it seems to have won the fans' hearts. Those who considered themselves Robin-Rooters have proudly followed Dick's new career as avid Wingnuts.

Has it really been 20 years since Dick Grayson stopped being a sidekick? Happy belated birthday Nightwing!

Too bad it's rumored he might be the identity crisis killer.

I think I will wait until next year. Then it will dawn on me that 20 years have passed since the first issue of Crisis -- the defining mini-series that turned me into a certified comic book geek.

While I loved The Dark Knight Returns, I did not like what Frank Miller did with Dick in Dark Knight Strikes Back (and, really, I hate the entire DKSB story, but that's another gripe).

I'm glad DC gave Dick Grayson a chance to grow up and spread out from Batman's shadow. I have the first few Nightwing comics down in the basement somewhere. Time to pull them out and reminisce...

re: Dick being the IC killer. I don't think so, as it seems the punchline of the series is more important than the identity of the killer.

Who is Jericho. heh heh.

What jazon said re: DKR v. DKSB.

Also, all the sidekick talk reminds me of my favorite episode of the late, great Tick series, "Couples."

Who is Jericho.

He was his dad most recently, wasn't he?

Yup, bonehead, and yknow, dad had quite a big part in Identity Crisis protecting Dr. Light. Hmmmmmmmm.

Weird. I still have my dogeared copy of Teen Titans where Robin becomes Nightwing. I was looking at it just the other day.
