TV Sheriff is just about the most incredible cut-up act I've ever seen. I have to recommend seeing some clips on his own site.

Second link is great. Plus, they were smart enough to use that Bearsuit track. I love that song.

The TV Sheriff piece is great. It stacked up all the odd things I heard at the DNC in regards to the war on terror, back when the democrats were trying to act tougher than the republicans.

Did you catch Bush give a wink after he asked them to come to the oval office? Nicely done!

A lot of you probably know this, but the TV Sheriff video updates a tune composed by Coldcut called 'Revolution' - mp3 download, quicktime download - which they originally put together under the name Guilty Party for the 2001 'Blair vs Hague' UK election. They launched the song a couple of weeks before the election by parading around central London on an open top bus blaring the song past the House of Commons, Downing Street and down Oxford Street and places like that. I was on the bus, it was a blast.

Obviously, that's an .mpg and not a quicktime file. DAMN YOU APPLE!

And I'd forgotten just how hypnotic that dancing/nodding Peter Mandelson was.

Best of the web my ass.

I happened to see TV Sheriff at a great show in San Francisco last spring. Holy cow, they have some great video. As you can see from their work with coldcut, they have MASTERED the video sampler. The night I saw them, they were playing a bunch of odds and ends from the 70s mixed together into a glorious mishmash of gameshows, commercials and after-school specials. More than mere kickass beats, they also convey a cohesive, albeit surreal, visual message with their visual work. I recommend them highly.

The Bush/Busey was pretty good, too.

That first thing was just weird. I had to stop it half-way through as I thought I was going to have a seizure. The second one was also weird, but in a much, much better way.

Thank God for Warp.
