Diplomadic This is a blog by foreign service folks...check out what they are saying about tsunami relief. Full disclosure, these are mostly Republicans. Regardless, give it a read and see what you think.

This post was deleted for the following reason: one bitter crank.

Is there something in particular you wanted us to consider?

I skimmed a bit and wasn't impressed. Cranky Republicans whining about the UN. Not much new there.

"They're calling for yet another meeting this afternoon; they've flown in more UN big shots to lecture us all on "coordination" and the need to work together, i.e., let the UN take credit."

I think these guys might be a little bit biased...

WOW!! That's almost as fun as posting common sence on LGF!!

That said, until the US creates a new system that everyone wants to use, where we get to set the rules, then you are stuck using the obviously flawed UN.

Make a better game, and everyone will want to play.

Yeah. I just love how the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people has handed the most powerful people in the most powerful country on earth with the biggest power to affect the UN the chance to bitch about how crap the UN is.

FUCK.
ING.
WANKERS.

"Mostly"? I only see one user listed, and these are his last few post titles:

almost fUNnny . . .
UNsanity Update
The UN Begins to Act . . .
UN Death Watch . . .
Flash! Clare Short is an Idiot!
Things That Make You Say 'Blah!' The UN Response to the Tsunami
Quakes and Tsunamis and Leftist Babble
Three Cheers for Rumsfeld

So, this is just some undistinguished winger's blog. Feh.

Wow. Before reading this, I didn't think it was possible for this country's standing in the world to fall much further. But if this kind of xenophobic, partisan assholes are the Foreign Service, there's obviously still a long way to go.

What was the point of this? It's a painfully partisan site with little to no rational information, little to no introspection, and nauseating rhetoric that reminds me (too) of the unbounded jackassery that goes on over at LGF. In one of the UN threads, someone angrily posted a link that ostensibly tried to justify that it's OK to make US soldiers wear UN uniforms, and people (predictably) went totally bonkers -- and proceeded to totally, completely ignore the few posters who actually READ the link and then pointed out that the decision came from a U.S. military tribunal, not a civilian court, which was affirming the military's ability to make such demands of its soldiers when it deemed it proper. Seriously, people just ignored the intelligent posters, and continued their idiocy unfettered.

It's rare to find anything else going on anywhere, really. The UN-hating meme is always amusing, though.

Thanks for linking to a great site--may it anger many readers here.

folkS. The S makes it sound like there are many, many people posting. Looks more like the masturbation of 1.

Hardly folkS. Is there a reason you billed this as a multi-person effort konolia?
