Who's That Girl?

Do you know Joyce Compton? She was the blonde (sometimes a redhead) you remember from tons and tons of movies made between 1937 and 1958, but you never knew her name. A shrine from the guy at Scrubbles.

A sweet remembrance of one of the many stock players who populated the world of movies. And without the usual litany of failed marriages, drinking problems, crooked managers, etc.

I didn't know who she was, but the moment the page loaded, I knew her instantly.

She's one of the ultimate Hey! It's That Guy!s, and yeah, without her and people with the class and wilingness to jump in that she had, Hollywood would be a much less interesting place.

Thanks, braun_richard.

Sweet! I collect Hollywood bit players, but I never would have placed her.

In the third photo of the 1920's section, her image would be perfect for a grilled cheese sandwich.

[this is superb]

Dude. Plep linked to your post in his blog. What better praise is there than that?

Dang. When will someone do a similar shrine for my favorite classic-film hottie, Claudette Colbert?

(Link is from imdb; for nicer pictures, look here and here. Rrrrow!)
