Jorg Schniedmayer and Armin Scrinzi's road trip photos of China These images are part of a large photo essay.I think the Lake Karakal, the best nature photography I have seen, lately.

I was in Xi'an a few years ago. As much as I enjoyed seeing the terra cotta warriors, I found other sites to be in some ways more interesting. The mosque was an oddly peaceful oasis, very quiet with chittering birds in all the trees. They don't have pictures of the Forest of Steles, a collection of (as I recall) several thousand old inscribed stone tablets, some dating back literally thousands of years.

However, I especially like this picture:

not because it's necessarily the most beautiful, but because it brings back memories of trying to shoot photos in the city without having Colonel Sanders' head in the picture (lower left corner). Xi'an was (and I suppose still is) infested with KFC billboards, most of them small, with just the Colonel's head and an arrow pointing to the nearest KFC.
