Megalophobes, beware: This is big.

There are very big things in Canada. There are very big things in Australia. There are very big things in Minnesota, in Texas, and at least 18 other states. There's so much to see, but my favorite is probably the many dinosaur statues of Drumheller, including the Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Smileasaurus Banana Eater, Shysasaurus Jelly Bean Eater, and, ummm, Jesus.

More along these lines in a couple of earlier discussions of roadside art/attractions.

Oh, and sorry, but this thread is why I was really getting deja vu.

Zurishaddai: Oh, dammit. I knew we had a history of posts like this, but I thought this one was 100% new. Poop. I swear, I searched the archives like a madman before posting this. May the world's largest, scariest potato strike me down if I'm lying.

I love Drumheller. I used to go camping there as a kid and once found a dinosaur bone that we dropped off at Tyrell museum. The park contains many, many hoodoos, and many, many glue-sniffing teenagers.

How funny, I drove past the Big Marino (Note: Not the Big Ram as suggested on the third link) on Friday on my way down to Canberra to visit friends.

Wait - Jesus was a dinosaur?

Drumheller is the first place I ever saw a cactus growing in the wild. Drove by a sign for the big goose in Wawa just last week!

I didn't see any mention of Jonathon Borofsky's mega works.

Those of you who have been to Venice, CA, have probably seen his "Ballerina Clown".

No sweat, kobayashi, I'm all for more tacky humongous stuff.

I grew up a stone's throw from S.O.B., which boasts what is surely the world's largest and only sombrero tower. (If you've driven on US I-95 anywhere between New Jersey and Florida, you've seen the kitschy billboards for this place.)

What is this, a celebration of international, cheap attention-whoring? :-)

The Australia links are missing at least 2 that I've been to: the Big Mango and a huge native bird of some sort on the Western Australia border.
