So Keswick, let me get this straight because I'm confused. Buffalo Bill is a real person, he lives in Australia, he abducted Ms. Spiers and the linked song is actually about the incedent? How do you know this? I must be overlooking something.

Sarah Spiers was almost certainly killed by the Clarement Serial Killer.

I often wonder how the parents, family, and friends of such victims feel when they hear a song with a sort of "serial killers are kewl" vibe to it. Know what I mean?

No sexymofo, but there's a connection to where I live and where the Claremont Serial Killer operates. It was the first name that popped into my head. (Poor girl.)

uncanny, how about we just wonder how they feel about a movie that portrays a serial killer in a very stereotypical, homophobic light? It's been recognized that while Silence of the Lambs is a pretty well-liked film, the Buffalo Bill character is embarassingly bad, and many of the lines are unintentionally hilarious. Do relatives of people who died when the Titanic sank get pissed off when people parody that particular film? Maybe. If you don't want people making parodies, then blame the filmmakers for bringing up the topic.
