Darknet Blog - Interesting articles about what is shaping technology today, and how the industry is playing nice with the government to legislate drm into our lives.

With the new bittorrent search engine out, and the recent attacks on torrent sites. This seemed like a good time to rehash some of these ideas.

But, if the chip keeps millions of people from doing what they want, why wouldn't customers just buy a competing chip that doesn't? It seems to me that in order for this to work all companies would have to do the same.

Maybe they just think people will accept it and move on.

UseyurBrain - the article about drm in intel chips is just one on the site. Although arguably one of the more contestable. I think that a move like this will probably just serve to increase AMT's market presence , but i think its pretty unlikely that intel won't manage to sink these puppies into quite a few machines. I can see maybe microsoft intel tie ins where you get discounts on their bloated os and processor prices if you integrate the drm. Not attractive to us but pretty attractive to dell or any other large manufacturer.

Oh good, give me another reason to lust for a Mac, as if my Compaq crashing wasn't enough impetus.
