Urban Golf. I normally get bored quickly with golf games, but the urban twist makes this shockwave game pretty entertaining. (Just ignore the Jaguar logo and the occasional product placement.)

May crash Firefox in an odd way (presents an error message, preventing switching to other tabs or closing tabs until you click "OK" or "Cancel", at which point it immediately throws up the same error message again, ad infinitum, effectively rendering Firefox unusable. Results may vary depending on whether your company firewall is blocking whatever script or command it's trying and failing to execute).

Ditto with IE. Best avoided if you're browsing from work or someplace else that restricts some types of downloads.

I don't think this kind of heavy advertising flash game belongs herei, personally. All you're really doing by posting this is using MeFi to push Jaguar.

if it's subtle advertising, okay, maybe... but this stuff is really blatant.

Folks, sorry about the technical hurdles -- I did this on my home PC and didn't think about whether the link would be work-friendly. I played the game for around an hour last night and thought it was a lot of fun once I figured it out. Hopefully I'm not alone, but if I am, mea culpa!

No worries, that wasn't a complaint, just an advisory for other folks who might be in the same situation (it would be pretty much impossible to test if all links work in all browsers/situations).

I happen to run Urban Golf in San Francisco, for the last 4 years. It's exploded in popularity since I started it 4 years from 70 to 150+ people. As for the safety factor, we never use real golf balls but those soft squishy stress balls, and we have strict rules about how hard your can swing. We also keep the 'course' to alleyways and parks.

Mostly the game is part minature golf and part pub crawl for us. Anyone who wants to join and try it it out, bring a 3 iron to washington square park this coming sunday at 1pm.

There is several groups in the UK who do UG also there is a group in the East Bay Area, but they actually use real golf balls, swinging full on in industrial zones.
