I hate DJs, and I thought that was pretty damn cool. I wish it was longer.

Ummm...you're not black, and you're not Darth Vader.

And stop signaling your buddy behind the camera to wait a sec...he's not going anywhere.

(OK, OK, it was pretty cool. He just set off my grump alarm.)

that was one of the coolest/dorkiest things I've ever seen.

SuperDorky! (i.e. pretty damn good).

That was great.

Only white people can DJ? Wow, welcome to 1983.

Yeah, what was it that initially set off your grump alarm, LairBob? Is DJing only for or properly done by THE BLACKS? Maybe his dancing was a little too BLACK for you? Perhaps it was the color of the Darth Vader suit (in which case, you're right, only the suit is black, because you can see his hands, which are white - he's not fooling anyone).

Besides his excellent DJing, I didn't see him doing any of the things whites who are trying to be BLACKS do .... like saying "yo yo yo" or sticking their arms out with their hands turned down and bouncing their arm up and down while music is playing or calling people "dawg" more than twice in a sentence or saying "i feel you". I just saw a kinda dorky looking white guy who could scratch really well.

No, of course not (although that is a fair criticism of the way I phrased it).

Nothing legitimate, as I conceded in my last comment. I just lumped him in with all the white upper-middle-class suburban kids I see every day who act all gangsta for a few years, and then go on to nice, cushy high-paying jobs and end up living in gated enclaves. I've just dealt with way too many middle-managers who make six-figures Mon-Fri and throw gang signs at their weekend BBQs, and it makes me snarky, sometimes.

At first I thought you referring to this guy scratching the imperial march (or at least the opening).

that just made my day! thanks for posting it, the rest of the stuff on their site is pretty scratchtastic (to use appropriate upper-middle-class suburban lingo) as well.

Just wondering, LairBob, because I didn't see that at all. I know exactly what you're talking about, though. There are various thug tribes of various races here at work. All of them united in their thugginess and their affinity for big clothes.

Now if I saw some modified, lowered, black, tinted windows, rims, bass car pull up to my building blasting the Imperial March on top of some really good beats and a guy in a Darth Vader suit came out, today would be the perfect day.

Great! And like Dark Messiah, I usually don't like this stuff.

Excellent DJing? I couldn't find the beat. There was no groove. Mildly humorous, though.

Quick plug/selflink: Keltech (Darth Fader) and I are both involved with the non-profit org Pedestrian which teaches turntablism and other electronic artforms to young minds around the UK. We're always looking for people to volunteer their time and expertise, and just to hang out at the forums!

LairBob:

You're a moron. What do you mean, signalling to his buddy? It's called working the crowd... you know, BEING AN ENTERTAINER. Stop pretending you understand things you don't.

Confession: never heard of Keltech.
Second half was impeccable. Shame I had to go through the first half to get there.
