I love NPR (and Terry Gross in particular). I love Daniel Clowes.

I kinda hate that he added like three strips to an old issue of one of his comics and called it a new book.

Haven't seen the new version of the story but I'm cool with repackaging solid material into a better format for a wider audience, etc.

Paging through Ice Haven, and having read it when it was an issue of Eightball, I think it lost a little in the translation; but Terry Gross probably wouldn't interview because he released a new Eightball.

I agree with the others who have said that it's lame that he's added a couple of strips and packaged this as a book. Clowes--though I love him--seems to have "Larry Niven's Syndrome" when it comes to anthologizing his work.

Also, I can't imagine that it would be an improvement to change the format of this issue of Eightball; like he says in the interview, the pages are set up to look like newspaper comics pages. Changing it to a "Garfield-sized book" seems like it would ruin the whole idea.
