By "pop," I assume that you aren't referring to music?

You assume correctly. I mean pop art, the look that first gained mass popularity in the 60s.

They are really cool. I kind of get the feeling sometimes that the Japanese quirky advert (and pop culture) industry derived much of their inspiration from French design.
