Greenlighters
July 2, 2005 7:56 PM   Subscribe

Greenlighters are an emerging underground movement of sexually promiscuous teenagers, including bisexual, homosexual, and heterosexual members. Members of this movement wear a green polo shirt with the collar up, indicating that they are open to pretty much any sexual adventure. When someone comes up to them and puts the collar down, they are "collared" and will go with that person and do whatever sexual act they ask. Transfer of money is not usually involved. Some parent groups are starting to get involved - urging parents to go through their kids clothes and confiscate green shirts and polos. Supposedly this has been going on since mid-2004 and may be related to the "chavs" in Britain somehow.

That's the right step, I think. Lord forbid you have to communicate with your kids, just take their shirts so they can't participate. Right.

I wonder if this may part of a competition among high schoolers to see how many un-wearable/undesirable items they can get banned by thier local school boards. Fer instance:

No rainbow suspenders
No snoods
No 1920's style paperboy shortpants
No patterned cravats
No spats paired with culottes
No pillbox hats with lace veils in gang colors

(actually, I'd happily sponsor a competition like this...)

Funny. when I went to high school in Canada in the 1960s we had a group who wore red if they were interested in some after class play time that day.

AFIK it was only heterosexual, though, and limited to a subset of the community who were aware of the (not very secret) secret code.

Maybe our town was just more promiscuous than the rest of the world. The police broke up a key club on our street. My parents were disappointed that they weren't invited to join.

How repressed is that ? What's preventing them from just meeting up and follow natural rules for coupling ? I mean a male and a female meet up..if there's a reciprocal attraction nothing will stop them from having sex and spending time togheter...nothing except themselves and their own fears and insecurities....but meeting by meeting their insecurity are very likely to vanish..resulting also in more socially skilful andbalanced adults.

Damn management by fear, obsession and repression, it's doing more damages then good and it's being replicated by marketing too.

Elpapacito, people wear clothing and other adornments to express their socioeconomic status, cultural affilitations, and age group. Why should communicating sexual predilictions be singled out and considered taboo? As a form of targeted advertisement in a large-scale society, it would improve the chances of people "meeting up" in the first place.

If you got here and pretend you really greenlighted and had a "Dear Playboy: I never thought I'd be writing you this..." experience, the mainstream media will eventually discover it and go into fits. And the hilarious part is that it's the right wing socially conservative media that will go the furthest off the deep end.

You win, FFF, for being so sure it was a hoax, but you use for the phrase "Dear Playboy..."

It's "Dear Penthouse..." The letters to Playboy would be more like, "Dear Playboy: I never thought I'd find that my sound system was not the highest fidelity imaginable, but yesterday..."
